I'm kind of lost here? It said something about your hard drive? What exactly did it say if you can describe it better? And you completely wiped the system to factory? If that's true, it seems weird to me that you'd still be having loading issues if it never occurred before. Seems to me that you had malware that activated on the next system boot and it was telling you things that weren't true to make you panic. But with you WIPING the system, it would have taken the virus with it. Anyways, a little clarification would be great.

That means hard drive failure. That is a legitimate message. That is why it urged you to back everything up. Unfortunately, you will need a new hard drive for your system. It MIGHT not be dead just yet, but it will be soon. It happened to an old laptop of mine. It's just something that happens. That's why the system is not booting/booting slow.

So is it even worth getting fixed if I had to pay someone or would I be better off just buying a new one?

poniwas32 wrote So is it even worth getting fixed if I had to pay someone or would I be better off just buying a new one?Depends. What's the resale value of your computer? A new hard drive isn't expensive. It's about 50 to 100 USD depending on the size you need. And you'll need a new OS since your old OS isn't transferable. You can buy it if you so wish which will range another 100 or so dollars. Taking it to a repair shop will cost WAY more money. Trust me, I work at one. So depending on your system specs, it might be wise to do either or.
