Im getting a Pc very soon and a PS4 its almost like a pc
I'd have a more difficult time with price against the PS4 which has leaked as $700, but the truth still stands that you're combining your PC and gaming platform.
Also all those comics you see about game sales being so plentiful are always about Steam, not Sony or Microsoft.
Edit: Although Sony does get some really good exclusives. So that is a reason to get a PS4

I've thought about building a PC instead of buying the new console.
I'm pretty sure I will end up getting the console though.

The next gen 360 will not cost anywhere near $1K probably around $500-$700 and the only reason people dont PC game is because everyone has xbox and people like to play with friends.

Did you not read my whole post or something?
Edit: Also, just if you can see how a different platform is better, it's not to hard to convince friends to switch with you.

My current pc already surpasses the xbox 720 and ps4, but I will still buy both consoles because I'm an idiot and love gaming.

As nice as this sounds, I'm sticking with Xbox. I just really like consoles all around more than computers. I can care less about all of these arguments with graphics. Plus, I love looking forward to the new consoles. Having that jump from one console to the next with the things they can do is great. I don't like a steady incline. I love those jumps. So what if they are behind? They are convenient to us people that aren't computer smart. I know an Xbox will play the games that are made for it. I don't need to worry about what it takes to run. Achievements are also nice. It makes it more of a social game to me (where I can compare what my friends have done to me.) I'm just not much of a computer guy.

My current PC specs are still much better than the new consoles, (For the price I paid for some of the components they had damned well better be better..). I'm more of an Xbox fan myself, and the more I hear about this new console the less interested I become. I've been trying to slowly switch over to PC games so I can sell my consoles for a while, but most of my friends only had xbox so I haven't made much progress. But I hate how inflexible consoles are, after I clear a game I want to install mods to just **** around. It's very difficult to do on consoles, that's why I built my gaming rig.
I personally would recommend getting the PC as it can always be upgraded as technology advances. It has more support for customizing and the installation of mods than consoles. But, as several people have brought up more people tend to have game consoles. If you like to game with friends you may want to hold out for the next gen xbox. Just some stuff to consider.
Plus, I'm a huge fan of the possibility of virtual reality gaming, and the newest product the Oculus Rift will only have PC support. I can kiss what little social life I have good bye once it's released hah..

Xbox you can play with your friends more. PC you can do the same, just usually not as much. It just depends on what you like more.
