My friend has got the all the DLCs on his account. He let me log in and download all the DLC. But when I play BF3 with his account none of the maps are showing up. Could this be because he got the DLC from the premium edition of BF3 and not by actually purchasing it?

You have to license transfer it for it to work.

Well I don't know then its probably he has premium I have premium and let my friend license transfer it for VIP in gears of war and it worked for him.

If you just download the maps you have to log into his account everytime and then your account to even play the maps. If you license transfer you don't have to sign in to his account at all to play.
