i have a 400 budget. Anyone know any upgrades i can do to my build?
AMD FX-4170 @ 4,2ghz Quad Core
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 Motherboard
AMD Radeon HD7770 1GB Graphics Card
16GB DDR3 1333MHZ Ram
1TB Western Digital Caviar Black @ 7200rpm
Fractal Design Core 1000 Case with pre-built 120mm Silent Fan in the front
Corsair 450w Power Supply 80% Efficiency
Lite-on 24x DVD-R Disc Tray
Was planning on getting a AMD Radeon 7870 2GB, and waiting till christmas and getting the new Intel Core I5 4670k Haswell.
What does anyone else think about my rig, and where i can upgrade?

If you are upgrading to the Haswell CPU's in December, why don't you get one of the new GTX 770's?

You would also need to buy a new PSU though, I think the miinimun requirement for them is 600W.
But if you are thinking of getting the 7870, Why don't you pair it with an AMD FX 8350? It's just under par with 3570k and in some cases outperforms it. Also, instead of getting a 7870, you could go a little further and get a 7950, It would still fit in your budget. (just) although, you would also need a new PSU for that too.
Here's what I would do with 400:

Yes pile driver architecture is undoubtedly better, AMD released it as some people were very disappointed with the bulldozer architecture.

A lot of people consider Piledriver to have fixed all the problems Bulldozer had. If you have a choice between to two, then buy a Piledriver as from what i've seen you'd only end up saving a few pounds/dollars if you got a BD.
