Yeah it's a nice Haswell build, not overkill.
By the way, that is one of my personal favorite GPU's, i love the 770.
My specs:
AMD FX 6300 @ 4.2 GHz
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo
Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0
Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 1600MHz
XFX R7770 Super OC
Zalman ZM500-GS PSU
