Decided to make the Gibson Explorer Guitar Hero guitar for my design project in my Engineering Graphics class. Just thought I'd share my progress (it's been a week) and hopefully will update it with the finished and rendered project!
EDIT: Also, if I decide to put more effort into this after I've already turned this in (on May 12th), I could do animations that would imitate the guitar playing actual songs...which would be kinda cool

(ALMOST) FINISHED IMAGE (just have to decide on exact colors and lighting for render)

This is being done in Solidworks 2014 and if anyone would like to download the parts, just let me know.
And too be clear, the strum bar strums, the whammy bar...whams, the directional pad moves correctly and the actually fret buttons will work too.
The Body, Neck, Whammy Bar, Strum Bar, D-pad and Start/Select Buttons are all separate parts that combine to form an assembly. If anyone is interested in the Engineering or Manufacturing fields, Solidworks is f***ing sick for modelling.

Is that it right there? What you made?
If so, that looks really good! Does it cost anything for Solidworks?

Yeah, that's what I've made in the last week. It looks pretty spot-on but I had to fudge some dimensions just to make it easier to model.
This is without the rendering which eliminates the extra lines that are created when you add curvature to things.
And Solidworks cost like $100 for the student version but you can get it for free if you know where to look

Just updated it with the nearly finished rendering; if anyone wants to get into Solidworks and would like learning materials/tutorials, shoot me a message, I would love to help anyone out
