I want to know if I can replace my A4-3300M with a A8-3500M. Am not using it to play games but to watch YouTube when 1080P 60-45 FPS comes out and 8GB-20GB HD movies. I had this laptop for about 2 years and it's not as fast as it use to be obviously. Also the APU is not soldered to the motherboard because I opened it a few times to replace a few things. Lastly I have already replaced the Sata II 5400 RPM with a Sata III 7200 RPM hard drive so I know its not my hard drive thats slowing down this laptop's performance but it did improve when I replaced it.

P.S. I also tried overclocking the apu but not much performance came out of it since it's not one to be overclocked.

My Laptop
HP Pavilion g7-1117cl Notebook

As far as I can work out, you sure can.

So the socket is the same which means that the new APU will fit in where the old one was.

the volts are the same, so is the wattage

Id look into this more, but it should be a nice upgrade
