Who would you guys prefer on your NFL team? Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota? Me personally on the NFL level I would take Winston.

I feel Winston is the better NFL prospect. Mariota is the better college player. Mariota is an intelligent player and all but he tucks and runs quite often which I feel he won't be able to do in the NFL. He would need to have an elite line and a great running game in order for him to emulate what he did at Oregon. Winston can sit in the pocket and can throw the ball. While he did have an off-year, he did prove that he could lead a good offense and have the ability to scramble for yards occasionally.

That being said, Winston is my pick. I would pick him first overall if I were the Buccaneers.

Mariota in my opinion. I understand where the user above is coming from, but look at Cam Newton and what he does. Even with the Panthers, Cam Newton runs a lot more than he should. And don't forget about Russell Wilson, he has the most rushing yards as a QB, he has been running a lot recently. Mariota has only gotten better as he has aged also. While throwing 40 touchdowns this year, he only got intercepted 3 times? A touchdown to interception ratio like that is almost unheard of. Winston has too many off the field distractions also.

I think the Bucs would be foolish not to take Mariota first.

And I understand where you're coming from too, however, those are merely statistics. Stats do not always show what actually happened. For instance, if a quarterback throws for 350 yards in one game, but 50% of those throws were screens, do you still give him credit for 350 yards? of course not. How does this relate to Mariota? Well he consistently throws very short yardage passes that are rarely in danger. That's why his stats appear to be the way they are.
Winston, on the other hand, makes every type of throw imaginable. Yes, he threw a lot of pics this year (18?) but I watched all the games and more than 40% of them were the receivers fault. The others were definitely his though. But he's not afraid to make the tough throw when necessary and he certainly can make it. All Mariota does is run or dump it off anytime things look somewhat hairy. If Mariota ran a 4.3 I'd give him a chance in the NFL, but at a 4.4 I don't see his speed working as well as it has for other players.

I also that Winston will be the better prospect. I fear that Mariota will end up as another Johnny Manziel, and I think we all know that Manziel has had it rough over the past few months since the draft.

Winston by a large margin.

When comparing the two, stop looking at stats, and pay more attention to what actually happened on the field. Mariota consistently made short passes, barely making down the field throws to anybody who wasn't painfully open. He doesn't have the accuracy of Winston or quarterback intelligence. Of course he is much faster, but that's all that I'd give him over Winston. Again, stop looking at numbers, and start looking at what actually happens on the field. Winston is a pro-style quarterback, King said, and Mariota still has not shown that he can be one too.

To everyone who thinks Winston is too immature for the NFL, I disagree with you.
He stole crab legs..... yea stupid, we all know that. But how is one mistake enough to mark someone as "not ready." What else did he do wrong? tell me one thing?
