2001 wrote The real question is why he was shooting the armadillo in the first place

Armadillos carry deadly diseases. I would have tried killing it or making it go away.

This doesn't make any sense to me on how the bullet could ricochet upwards when he has a major height advantage over the armadillo, but that's just me. If he shot the bullet from anywhere higher than the armadillo then the bullet would've either ricochet level with the armadillo or lower. So idk, I don't believe this story, I think the guy was up to something else when he got shot

I've heard that the bullet actually hit the ground first, then the Armadillo.
The angles there could line up to hit him in the face.

Like this... I guess [Artistic brilliance]

Well when you think about it, it makes complete sense that it would do that. Let's take a look at a armadillo. They are round so depending on where the bullet hits it could go any direction. He hit just the right spot and the bullet ricocheted and hit him. We also don't know what kind of bullet it was. If it was a ball bullet then it would make even more sense that it hits him. We as well don't have any idea where he was standing in relation to the armadillo. You have your reasons to not believe this but anything is possible.
