i assume this is the place to put this even tho its not really about pc's but its somewhat related. im needing 2 external hard drives one for my imac and one for my xbox one. i'm really not sure about any of this stuff and i don't want to overpay for anything or buy something thats not compatible with what i have. if you need any more info tell me if you could link me to a few that would be great. preferably something on amazon. thanks a lot <3

edit:needing about 1tb each maybe 2tb depending on the price.

Very cheap, USB 3.0, you can get them in 500GB, 1TB, 2TB, 4TB

well i'm in the us so i can't get that one ;/ but is there a difference in externals? like can i use any external hard drive for anything?

They have them on the US Amazon

You can use it for pretty much anything that you'd use a regular internal HDD for, apart from the fact that they're portable.
