Trying to make a logo I can use for something. Making it around the letter 'Z'.
These are not the finishes logos. Just some quick concepts.
This one is the first one I made. Just a box with a diagonal line going through it. The diagonal line and the top and bottom lines make the Z with the other 2 lines to finish off the box. I kind of like this idea but it doesn't seem like it is easy to see the Z.
That's why I made this one. The same but the Z a different colour. Just used red to show it being another colour. Unsure what colour I would use though. Only problem with this is that I would prefer my logo to be able to be read with only 1 colour.
I would also need to experiment with the thickness of the lines in them two. Maybe making them a bit thicker.
This is my other idea:
Just a box with 2 transparent lines to make it look like a Z.
(Edit: Just realised how massive this one is. Whoops)
If anyone could provide some feedback or ideas, it would be much appreciated. I know these don't look great. Like I said, they are just the concepts.

I honestly don't see the Z what-so-ever. It's okay nonetheless.

If I'm completely honest, I don't know where this is going.
If you wanted a box with a z inside, you have succeeded.
However, does it look good? No, anyone looking at that would have a hard time figuring out what it's meant to be, which isn't good, you need it to be legible (easy to understand and something that works)
Play around with different stroke sizes, use a few different typefaces/fonts for the Z, just be creative, it's easy to sketch out first then implement them into photoshop after, just sketch lots of random ideas and work from that.
Once you've played with the different sizes, widths etc then start playing around with colours, do you want it plain?
Anyway; keep going, if you want some inspiration just go onto Pinterest.

Honestly, before you jump into logo design, seriously think about what you are going for. It took a good 30 seconds to fully understand the last one was a Z.
Mess around in Illustrator, you can come up with some good vectors, and simple designs with shapes alone, more with freehand.

Thanks for the feedback. Like I said these were just my first concepts. The logo would also be on pages that also have the name so it should make it a bit easier.

Ok thanks for the idea. Also, why did you vote my message as not useful when I was asking him what one he was talking about since the message sounded like he was just talking about one D:
