Modding will NOT help you in anyway shape or form in making a game or designing it unless you are practicing typing lol

I would go about it in this order
1. Find out what different process make up a VG ie. Coding, graphic design, environmental architecture, sound, object physics
2. Find out which one of the different areas you are interested in
3. Start to learn, either by self-taught or classes, what programs, coding languages or other essential skill sets are required
4. Create a portfolio with your work, most jobs in the industry require some sort of demonstration of your skill with each application
5. Look into schools (colleges and tech schools) that specialize in that field. Devry University has a pretty well established Game Design degree program.
Hope this helps you out a little

KrazyKayne wrote I would love to learn how to mod but dont you have to have super computers all i have is a Dell Laptop....
You don't need a super computer. Trust me, if my computer can do it, yours can. (Atleast for xbox modding. My computer can't handle pc games lol).
If your laptop can handle pc games I would recommend Buying a game called Garrys Mod. It's a game that allows people to use dev tools to put stuff into the game.. Literaly anything you want. You can pick up Garrys mod and Counter Stricke Source (required for garrys mod) for $30. If you're interested I'll tell you what to do. I recomend finding out if your computer can handle games first. Try downloading Halo 2 for free.
If it can't but you still want to mod the 360, PM me and I'll help you out a bit since we aren't allowed to discuss modding xbox on the forums.
