Ironically I used to sell cameras for one of my earlier jobs - a good choice I can recommend for beginners is apart of the Canon Rebel series. Very affordable DSLR camera and a great platform to start photography. Interchangeable lenses, that are affordable and performs well for its price point. I've also recommended a few other brands to help widen your search. Nikon is also a great choice and similar in functionality. Sony is my personal favorite for automotive photography and their high end features like eye tracking to keep subjects face in proper focus. (a little more expensive).

Here's my automotive photography page - if you have any questions just let me know.

Canon T6 - $500

Canon T7i - $700-800

Nikon 5600 - $750

Sony A6100 - $700
