I bought LG monitor probably 5 years ago, Maybe you have some bad settings? I know NVIDIA can have some pretty weird settings on like fps limiting.

I also know a lot of people forget to actually enable 144hz in the display settings so that could also be worth checking out

(To check, Right click Desktop -> Display Settings -> Scroll to Advanced display settings -> Make sure refresh rates are correct, It should be ticked to 143 ish or so)

Also make sure when you open a game that your monitor stays on 144hz by opening the settings with a button on the monitor, I know some games like to open on 60fps.

But nowadays i know a ton of people are opting to getting a 240hz monitor. I'm gonna wait for a sale and try to snag one for around $200 but at the moment they're a bit on the pricey side for a solid one.
