Modern Warfare 3 Fires Back at the Competition

As the release dates for both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare come closer, the mud-slinging is becoming dirtier with each passing day. This time it’s the co-developer of Modern Warfare 3 kicking wet dust DICE’s way, with the studio’s co-founder and general manager Glen Schofield saying, “I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.”
That’s what he said while speaking in a recent interview with AusGamers. When asked about Battlefield 3′s brand new Frostbite 2 engine he said, “You can go out and name your engine and call it whatever you want, right. You know, I’ve done that before, I’ve seen that trick and the bottom line is, this game will run at 60 frames a second. Not sure any of our competitors will.”
“Not sure I’ve seen any of our competitors on the console, especially running at 60 frames a second, and I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.
I think 60 is our competitive edge and you just don’t throw that away. You don’t ship an engine, you ship a game.”
Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8th worldwide for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Battlefield 3 will release on October 8th for the same platforms.

Battlfield doesn't need 60, it's **** amazing at 30. Yeah, you can call BFBC3 a CoD killer.

Im buying both games. But i can say this without a doubt.
MW3 will be the best selling game of all time. period.
Black ops currently is and they release along side of halo reach, Witch turned out to be a fail, But had a muuuuchhh larger fanbase then bf3. Bottom line bf3 may be great, But it wont even come close to outselling MW3

I don't know if you have ever played Black Ops or if you accidentally put some words together but in Black Ops you can't knife for sh!t.

I like how you say BF3 is superior to MW3 then you say it's going to be superior. How is it superior than MW3 when neither game has come out yet? People need to stop judging games on how the previews look and wait to judge them once they play the actual game. One reason why people shouldn't judge games based on the preview is Black Ops. A bunch of people including myself saw Black Ops previews and thought that it was going to be amazing but the only things keeping Black Ops from dying out are the DLC's that 3ARC has to release every other month.

P.S. Whoever thinks that Black Ops is better than MW2 needs to get a reality check.

*Sigh* You realize Infinity Ward probably spent the same amount of time to make their Infinity Ward engine (they did slightly update the engine for MW3, too), you make it sound like using the same engine is bad. You don't know if either MW3 or Battlefield 3 is going to be superior. Grow up and accept it. And many great game sequels use the same game engine, grow up and accept it. You're obviously a blinded fanboy, seeing how your name is -Frostbite- try not to sound so opinionated next time and people will take you a bit more seriously.

Hes just getting nervous. 60fps and 30fps really have no difference. Theres no lag in 30fps. They need a lower fps so people wont run at super speeds like cod mw2 did. Plus 60fps has ALOT of lag. As you could see in MW2 and BO, the 60fps allows you to knife from far away. Thats not a problem in BF. Plus, you dont realise how much lag there will be if BF ran at 60fps. Theres like 2 tanks 3 cars 1 helicopter, alot of explosions, alot of destruction and alot of players. That means its practicly impossible to run at 60fps.
