Xbox 720 event rumored for April.

Today’s latest rumor comes from sources as they are reporting that a large number of developers and industry professionals (including Sony) are saying the Microsoft will reveal it’s next generation Xbox for the first time in April.

A Sony official was quoted saying “…at first, we caught Microsoft off-guard. We definitely ruffled some feathers.” Sources are also reporting that Microsoft Engineers are expected to discuss future tech prior to the event at GDC on March 25th.

Microsoft’s ad agency “Ustechs”, which helped produce Microsoft’s E3 2012 press conference, has also just registered the domain of XboxEvent.com earlier today.

They did that last time and the PS3 had the opportunity to trump them with some technology. I think Microsoft is just waiting a little bit to pull out something amazing to shock Sony. I'm hoping Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible, they should at least let you install your owned Xbox 360 games in your Xbox 720 so you can play them that way. And hopefully the paid attention to Sony and make pre-owned games playable.

Who will win this year, Microsoft or Sony?


Personally I believe that Microsoft's the biggest brand, and Xbox is the biggest seller, however, that could all change.

I still won't be purchasing a PlayStation; I'll be sticking to Xbox. I just recently bought an Xbox Slim though, so it will be a while before I upgrade again.
