The MachineGames pair participated in a rapid-fire interview with Leo Vader from MinnMax, who asked them 141 questions. One of their notable answers concerned how many cutscenes were in the game, as the game's early promotional material was essentially a series of very long cutscenes. A 5-minute cinematic trailer showcased Indie facing off against a group of self-important Nazis.
When asked about the game's cutscenes, the answer was "...roughly 3 hours and 40-45 minutes or something along those lines. It's a lot." You can expect to hear a lot of dialogue from Indiana Jones' voice actor Troy Baker, who the pair were very complimentary of. Baker is a noted perfectionist but admits that he had to stop "...trying to be Harrison Ford. I just wanted to be Indiana Jones," in a recent interview with GQ.
According to Torvenius, Baker captures Indiana Jones' "grump" very well and "floored the competition" in auditions. Baker is best known for voicing Joel in Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, as well as a whole host of other roles.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to release on December 9 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, and on PlayStation 5 during the first half of 2025. The game was originally intended to be an Xbox exclusive, but following the success of other former Xbox exclusives on PlayStation, the decision was made by Bethesda and Xbox to release the game on PlayStation on a delayed schedule.
The game is set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, centering around 'The Great Circle', a group of sites around the world that form a perfect circle when overlayed on a map. These locations include Rome, Thailand, Egypt, Shanghai and the Himalayas.
