WWDC13: Apple has announced iOS 7

Apple has announced iOS 7 at WWDC and it will be the platform for the company's future iOS devices and that it will arrive later this year for existing and future devices. The OS will bring new icons, translucency, and updated navigation that will update the feel and flow of the OS.

The new transitions and color palette provide a much needed refresh to the OS that had become stagnant since its introduction in terms of look and feel. With iOS 7, Apple recreated the visual flair of the site that should appease many of the critics who claimed that iOS was outdated.

Apple calls it an 'end-to-end' redesign of the OS and is introducing 10 new features including control center (easy access to all phone controls) from any screen by swiping up from the bottom.

Multitasking is being updated as well and that any app can have true multitasking and Apple claims it doesn't impact battery life. It also introduces a card like feature from webOS to move between applications.

Safari is being updated with new tabs, UI, parental controls. There are a bunch of other improvements for sharing links, bookmarks, and a reading list as well that polish out the update to Safari; there is also the ability to pick up where you left on Safari on your desktop with tab syncing.

AirDrop, as previously rumored, is coming to iOS 7 that will help you share content with those around you (who are running iOS 7 of course).

JonnyUK Apple have really designed this for white iPhone users everything is white, they should really have made it that you can change the colour from white to a darker grey or something for the black iPhone.


The black iPhone looks the best in my opinion. I don't know how this will look on the black iPhone but I don't think it will matter that much to me.


I agree should look good on the Black iPhone aswell.

I've been comparing it to the Windows OS look rather than the Droid look. I think it has that clear cut, defined, frosted glass look that Windows goes for.


I've never used or seen a Windows Phone in use other than seeing what the home screen looks like. So I'm not familiar with the whole layout.


It's ok, my friend has it. It can be confusing

Yeah, I was able to get a copy for myself on the 4S if you can't find somewhere to download it, considering that Apple is probably taking all of these downloads down frantically. Just PM me if you need it, I have the file sitting on my computer and I'd be glad to put it up for you. Keep in mind that you actually need to have a 4S and not a 4 or a 5 for it to work...

Come the release of iOS 7.0 Beta 2 you will need to be verified to my knowledge. I know that they fixed it in iOS 7.0 Beta 1; as of now you need to be verified to use the first beta.


I think my iPhone 5 is verified, I'll have to take a look at it. If not then I can wait until the official release of iOS 7 to try it out.

Miraculous Updated it thanks to a youtube tut. Didn't like it that much so i downgraded...


I'm only upgrading once a jailbreak is released for it. I still want to try the beta but I will more and likely downgrade it after testing it.


Yea in the tut it said you would lose all that. Smart move that you're waiting for a jailbreak to come out
