Call of Duty now on three year development cycle

Activision has released that it will be moving the CoD series to a three year development cycle instead of two.

While this still means a new CoD entry each year it *should* allow much more time for the respective devs to fully develop their CoD. One would imagine their hope in this strategy change is to foster more innovation while allowing further care of previously released games in the form of better crafted DLC.

Such is such and amazing idea and exactly what I wanted! I'm glad they are doing this. It allows for more time to work on the games and they have a chance to be a lot better. I'm excited to see what happens in the next couple of years!

This will be good, considering that it will give the developers an extra year to craft a new call of duty, i just hope COD doesn't die too quick, i would like to see what the dev's have in store for us.

Infinity was never good at makeing cod they spend to much time and effort on graphics yes they look good but the game engine is crappy. Treyarch spends time on engine and yes the graphics are cartoonish but their games are so fun so to play i still play Black Ops 1 because how fun mulitplayer is. But Treyarch fans like me should not get mad because they get three years to make the game so are muliplayer should have more stuff to do same with are dlc's

Hell Yea, i remember thats wen all my friends really wer into xbox we'd play the **** out of that game, Best cod by far


i Agree 200% Tanks, Zombies, actual sniping towers :) and hours of fun the campaign sucked tho :( but they need to realist most cod players would be happy with no campaign and spend all they time for online and muiltiplayer.
Yea I miss zombies so much. It was awesome!

If Sledgehammer had any input in MW3, I don't want them to touch any CoD game ever again. MW3 was the worst CoD hands down, and everyone agrees. Treyarch actually puts effort into their games and makes a good looking and good playing game (aside from some minor balancing issues, still a lot less than Infinity Ward games.) I'm not going to bash Sledgehammer this early, but I really hope they are nothing like the "new" Infinity Ward.

I totally agree. WAW was my favorite game.
