Gran Turismo 7 Creator Is “Considering” Making A PC Port

3.7
Gran Turismo 7 could be the next PlayStation exclusive to be ported to PC, according to series creator Kazunori Yamauchi. He claimed that developer Polyphony is now looking into releasing its games onto the PC platform. However, only a brief comment on the potential Gran Turismo port has been provided for now.

Speaking to GTPlanet at the Grand Turismo World Finals, Kazunori Yamauchi hinted that the much-awaited PC port for the racing sim is not an impossible thought for the near future. "Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title. There are not many platforms that could run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”

The latest entry in the acclaimed racing series, Gran Turismo 7, has been out for eight months on PS4 and PS5. The developer team has worked on fixing bugs and several performance issues, such as stuttering, freezing, and lagging during gameplay, in addition to plenty of post-launch support to improve the experience for players. Other than that, player frustrations about micro-transactions have been a subject of controversy for quite some time. However, as Kazunori Yamauchi states, Grand Turismo releasing on PC could happen in the future.

Given that other PlayStation exclusives, such as God of War, Marvel's Spider-Man, Horizon, and Uncharted have already made the jump to PC in recent years, Gran Turismo 7 being a multi-platform game is not completely impossible. Furthermore, another PS exclusive, Returnal, has been rumored to be coming to PC, too. The Returnal port has also been confirmed in the Steam database, and the game's PC settings have also been leaked.

In case you missed out, Head of PlayStation Studios, Herman Hulst, reiterated in an interview with YouTuber Julien Chieze back in September that Sony intends to release their games on PC. However, he also stated that Sony's new strategy to bring fewer PlayStation exclusives to PC will remain an extension of the company's business model.
