Call of Duty is Getting 2 New Guns on January 17th

3.8
Call of Duty confirmed that two new weapons, the HRM-9 and the TAQ Evolvere, are coming to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone on January 17. These additions are a part of Call of Duty's Season 1 Reloaded patch.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 features an assortment of weapons that cover most of the bases for fans of modern weaponry. The game features series classics like the ACR (now called the MCW) and the UMP (now called the Striker), while also introducing new weapons like the Longbow and the BAS-B. Looking ahead, the game's two newest weapons were previously revealed with Call of Duty's Season 1 roadmap in December, but its development team has confirmed that these guns will arrive soon.

On January 17, the HRM-9 and the TAQ Evolvere will be added to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The HRM-9 SMG is described as a "light yet stable 9mm submachine gun for close quarters combat and putting down enemies quickly." It's further explained that the HRM-9 will feature a high fire rate with superb mobility and handling stats, making it a great fit for aggressive playstyles. Once it's added, it can be unlocked by completing an Armory Unlock challenge. Season 1 Reloaded's other new gun, the TAQ Evolvere, is described as an "advanced, multi-caliber LMG capable of firing 7.62 or 5.56 with minimal adjustments to the weapon." Call of Duty's website further details that the Evolvere is exceptionally versatile thanks to these customization options, and is powerful against both infantry and killstreaks. Once it's added, it can be unlocked by completing a Weekly Challenge.

What Guns will be Added to Call of Duty with Season 1 Reloaded?

Based on previous weapons added to Call of Duty, users can expect the HRM-9 and the TAQ Evolvere to introduce new camos to the game as well, with each featuring four camos that can be unlocked in Multiplayer and four that can be unlocked in Zombies. This will only add to Modern Warfare 3's impressive array of weapon and camo choices.

It's still unclear whether these new weapons will be able to break into Modern Warfare 3's current gun meta. For Multiplayer, the HRM-9 likely has the best shot, seeing that SMGs are often a part of 6v6 Call of Duty's best weapons every year. As for Warzone, the Evolvere probably has the better chance due to the battle royale's longer ranges and higher time-to-kill. However, the HRM-9 could still shine in Warzone as well.

In addition to these two new guns, Season 1 Reloaded will also bring plenty of other features to Call of Duty. These changes include a new win condition in Warzone, a new 6v6 map, new Multiplayer game modes, and more.
