I'm literally destroyed.

I just pulled my first loan out and purchased an 07 Audi S4. If anyone knows anything about them, they are just absolute beasts. Comes stock with a 4.2l V8, pushing 340hp to all wheels. Luckly for me, I found a 6 speed and jumped the gun (for me, 6 speeds are rare around me, closest one I could find was 180 miles away). Went out and purchased her, check in hand and drove home that day.

You ask, why did I jump the gun and purchase it? Because Audi S4's are known to have horrible timing chains, since audi thought it was a good idea to place it in the back of the engine, and also have them run along plastic guides and pulleys, they had a tendency to fail. Let me point out that the repair for a new timing chain and or pulleys, is estimated around $7-10,000. Yea crazy. Anyways, the one I found had its timing chain just replaced 20,000 miles ago, HOLY HELL YES!

Long story short, I bring it home and I noticed the 4 hour drive home, it ate oil like a ****. Great, first thought, a leak. but to my despair, it wasnt a leak. Thank god. But what came in the next few weeks was far worse than any leak. See, because if was just a leak, I can fix it..right?

But after having a local shop look at it, and it being torn apart for 2 weeks they came to the conclusion that 3 of the 8 cylinders failed the compression test. Cause? Probably scored cylinders. Which is another thing apparently Audi S4 V8's are known for.

So what am I planning to do, that I need so many of you to pray for? Im getting a new motor, but its going to cost me $6,000. Please pray for my soul, as a 19 year old young adult, I am financially not ready.

What are you gonna do tho amirite?

I am on the same boat as you. Well, sort of. I spent over $1k in repairs on my car as it wouldn't stop overheating. I have to put her up for sale and I am going to be getting my first loan on a Nissan Altima this weekend. I am 19 as well.

if it were me, I'd just part-ex it and look for something else as a temporary car. They do indeed have their problems but you bought that unknowingly that it had compression failures.

Literally wish I would have stuck with my original idea and got a Altima as well. But you know, the race car side of me got the better.

I had a horrible problem with my first car. Bought an 02 VW Polo just to last me until I had more money for a new car. It had oil in the pistons, completely dead after the motorway drive home, quoted £1000+ for repairs on a car that isn't even worth that anymore lol.

I pray for u

I looked at these for a first car because of the impressive performance, but the timing shit scared me away. Apparently every 100k miles it goes bad. But I dont know where you live, but do you have a lemon law?
