Absolutely ecstatic about his 2 goals tonight. Before Torres moved to Chelsea he was one of my favourite players playing the game at the time, used to love picking him up from AtMad on Championship Manager 5 as well
I really didnt want his form at Chelsea and then later on at Milan to ruin him, and although this isn't a dead cert that he's back, he's showing great signs |

It's really baffling what happened with Torres. He went from world class to a laughing stock. Everyone says he needed confidence but even when he did play well it didn't last long.
Very strange one, personally I think there's more to it that we know. |

Everyone says he needed confidence but even when he did play well it didn't last long. theres a lot of supposed reasons , He was injured when we picked him up , The transfer fee , Then the pressure of getting his first goal etc , Its nothing new - We have seen it with shevchenko and others - Loads of players have amazing seasons in 1-2 different leauges/clubs and come to one club and do aweful - It could be down to the way we played etc. |

Couldn't believe my eyes, Torres sending Pepe for a taxi home!
I just think he was misued at chelsea, at liverpool/athletico he was at his prime because we played a style to suit him. |

This is where iget annoyed , As i said i hope he does come back to what he was like at liverpool , But to say we misused him or blame us for "Ruining him/his career" is BS We did EVERYTHING to bring him back to form - We sacked managers because they werent playing him , Brought in managers just to suit him (Rafa) we put off a lot of signings (STs) to try and make torres come good , We sold Daniel sturridge to give him more confidence and to ensure him he was NO.1.We brought in more creativity to accomadate for him (Mata at the time) Then he went to Milan , He did awefull there too so if he comes back to form for Athletico (Which lets be honest is a big IF) then its down to him - He prefers to play at a club he loves (Athletico / liverpool) but to say we ruined him or anything simular is just BS imo. Also another thing that shows it wasent us , He got the ball alot - Look up his worst fails on YT for CFC , They were always when he got the ball - No amount of mismanagement or whatever makes you miss open goals , Makes you fall over the ball , Makes you run straight into a defender etc. |
