PlayStation Plus prices increase in US and Canada starting September
Sony has quietly revealed a price a hike for PlayStation Plus subscriptions for the US and Canada. In quite the stealth announcement, the company posted an update to the PlayStation Blog entry about August’s free games, confirming that the twelve and three months options will be affected.
The yearly membership will be increased from $50 to $60 in the US, and from $50 CAD to $70 CAD in Canada. The three months options will also see an increase from $18 to $25 in the US and from $18 CAD to $30 in Canada.
The monthly plan will see a hike only in Canada, bringing the price to $12 CAD from $10 CAD. This is the first increase of its kind for the North American region since Plus was introduced back in 2010.
These prices will go in effect on September 22. If you renew your subscription before that date, you’ll be charged the current prices. If you’re going to cancel, make sure you do so before September 22.
Sony has not yet revealed if Europe and UK will see similar hikes. That said, the company did increase UK Plus prices last year, and a few other countries the year before.
PlayStation Plus is required for online play on PlayStation 4. The service has other benefits such as cloud saves, extra sale discounts, and free monthly games. Sony said the new prices “reflect current market conditions”.

I mean 10$ from like 1 million people is a huge increase in profit. Look at netflix going to 10$ 200 million people an extra 2$ is huge and it is only an extra 2$ on the consumers end. It makes this price only increase like 75 cents per month technically if you worked the math out.
