Call of Duty WWII PC Beta Player Discovers First Look at New Uplink

With the ongoing PC beta for the upcoming Call of Duty: WWII title, players are getting a taste of what is to come and how exactly the team over at Sledgehammer is bringing the CoD franchise "back to its roots." It's not just enjoyable maps and epic takedowns, one PC beta participant found a bugged menu within the game that could be the first look at some of the unique modes coming to the latest title.

One player took to Reddit to show his findings within the WWII beta, showing off a bugged menu in its very early early stages. Because this was found by mistake and there were Advanced Warfare and "Stronghold" placeholder images also found, there is a very real possibility that his discovery - though a look inside of updated features - will drastically change come launch time.

What he found is very interesting, especially for those veterans of the Call of Duty franchise. The first of the images that the user shared show off a new game mode called "Gridiron", which looks to be a more grounded version of Uplink. Here are a few of the images he shared to show the boots-on-ground take of the new mode:

Musket It looks like it could be fun

Its basically the same as capture the flag only you can't shoot when you have the ball.

Just like Uplink in previous COD games.

A lot of people seem to be saying its not authentic. This is 1 game mode that has been in Call Of Duty before some liked some didn't you can't judge a whole game on it being authentic over 1 mode. Wait till release then judge it as they say you can't judge a book by its cover.

Eternity Adding something like this doesn't seem "authentic" like they've been advertising. Just another way to try and get people back and spend more money. It's such a shame what the series has evolved into over the years.

Authentic is mostly for campaign as i can see

I think they said they were trying to keep camos realistic this time around. Don't quote me on that though

Now presenting for pre orders at gamestop... the totally authentic metal lightning liquid tiger snake camo. Power to the players.

I feel it's going to be a fun game-mode to play without having the jet-packs. Mainly it's just blitz from ghosts but you can still throw it. If it fails then Dom and SnD it is lol.
