‘Thousands’ of cheaters banned from Fortnite: Battle Royale

Epic Games has banned thousands of cheaters from Fortnite: Battle Royale and has promised that more will follow.

Since the developer’s free battle royale spin-off of Fortnite went live it has suffered from cheaters and hackers, but it appears that Epic Games is starting to get on top of it.

“To start, addressing cheaters in Fortnite is the highest priority across Epic Games,” community coordinator Nathan Mooney wrote. “We are constantly working against both the cheaters themselves and the cheat providers. And it’s ongoing, we’re exploring every measure to ensure these cheaters are removed and stay removed from Fortnite Battle Royale and the Epic ecosystem. We don’t want to give too many clues about what we’re doing, but we are rolling out tools and will continue to do so. Thousands have been banned and we have no plans to stop!”

It was also revealed that account progression will begin rolling out for Battle Royale “in the next several weeks,” allowing players to earn items as they play.

“It will also help in the war against casual Cheaters and will give them less incentive to simply cheat their progression with a ban around the corner,” Mooney added. “For those persistent trolls, we’ll be continuing to work on solutions.”

Fortnite: Battle Royale is available now as a free download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

MuahaMods They have no anticheat. I've seen 3 cheaters get banned pre game so far, and way more lasting the entire game then winning. You can't even report people while you're in the game, you have to leave, then type their full playername & a reason. Good luck if their name was in another language or had symbols!

They really need to come up with a better report system. It would make it a lot easier to report users cheating.

I agree seems pretty dumb that you can't report in game.

What difference would it make reporting in game or after game? They wouldn't get automatic ban so it wouldn't be much difference.

You can get people teaming up in solo though what is considered cheating.
