The latest console from the Big N is changing a lot about Nintendo's presence in the current market. With more third-party support than ever before, the Nintendo Switch continues to shatter expectations and once again bring the powerhouse company to the forefront of the gaming community.

DOOM, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and a plethora of horror titles continue to show off an impressive line up for Switch owners and it doesn't look like that trend is going to be dying out any time soon. Even the promotional material surrounding the Switch's release showed off more adult interaction with the console, versus the family/kid-centric focus of the past. Because of this, more and more developers are coming forward with a desire to reach out to the platform in order to contribute to its expansive library.

According to recent reports, Inti Creates chief executive Takuya Aizu was pleasantly surprised when their "adult" title Gal Gun 2 was met with positive reception from the Nintendo camp:

"I thought it wouldn’t be possible to release such a game for the Switch, but surprisingly, Nintendo gave me positive feedback."

He wasn't the only one either. Aizu made mention that more and more of his fellow developers are noticing the shift in Nintendo's attitude towards different genres and hitting multiple audiences at once. Between more "adult" content and more indie hands in the melting pot, Nintendo looks to be bringing their A-game with going toe-to-toe with the Microsoft and Sony camps. Though the specs may not be up to Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro standards, the Switch makes up in a lot of different ways with its unique features and portability. The market for this platform is potentially huge and it's great to see Nintendo acknowledging that.
