Xbox One X Now Ships With "Major" Change to Console

4.1
New Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles no longer ship with the warning sticker on the front of device, a change that seems like a minor one but is actually a pivotal point for some people in the “Sticker vs. No Sticker” debate.

Microsoft senior producer Justin Robey tweeted an image of a new Xbox One X that looked particularly clean, though some people might’ve noticed something looked a bit off about it. On the front of the Xbox One, there’s normally a warning sticker telling console owners to be careful when moving the device if there’s a disc inserted, but it’s nowhere to be seen here. Robey himself is part of “Team Sticker” as his tweet indicated and asked Xbox corporate vice president Mike Ybarra if it was true that the consoles no longer shipped with the sticker. Ybarra responded to confirm that “Team No Sticker had to win” and that the warning sticker won’t be seen any longer on new consoles.

Plenty of Xbox One owners probably didn’t even know that they could take that sticker off with many unknowingly leaving it on the console, but for others who were and are part of Team Sticker, they’ve purposely left the warning sticker intact. Some people joked that the sticker would become a hot commodity now with “limited-edition” Xbox One consoles being sold through third-party sites, sticker still present, while others doubled down on their pro-sticker stance.

People have even made anti-sticker videos in the past such as the one below that shows a compilation of Team No Sticker triumphs. There were others who were already part of Team No Sticker and are happy to see the change take place, though there’s apparently a subset of that group that lost something here. Unboxing new games, consoles, and other devices is a moment that lots of gamers look forward to, and peeling off that sticker was part of the ritual. With the sticker no longer on the device, that means that those people don’t get to peel of the final part of the console any longer.

I think it looks better without the sticker, and I always would rip it off. The people who I know who kept the sticker on thought it would void warranty if you took it off, not quite friends.

who cares we arent in the radical ninties sticker age anymore were in the age of humans are now ret*rds, if you move your console with a disk inside then you yourself is to blame not anyone else because everyone else is smarter then you, no joke who ever moves their consoles well its on with a disk inside are mentally retarded its safe to do it when its off not when its on(used to do it with the ps2 ps1 360 game cube and the xbox one original not the 2013 xbox one) slot loading bays with blu ray are prone to being easily damaged when moved even off(lesson learned with the ps3), so again who cares stickers are pointless nowadays since you can now attempt to repair your console without paying the oh you broke the seal charge when you mess up the console more), if you are so into stickers just freaking slap some radical ninties stickers or stupid pointless 20xx stickers to feel better(stickers makes stuff look ugly imo)

Really minor thing imo. Most people knew better then to move their console with a disc in it and on top of that most people play games and movies digitally now. As for my opinion I always went with no sticker it made me cringe seeing people keep the sticker.

Mikey People really getting upset because it aint got a warning sticker on it, like, really lmao?

Well, at one point, it was a big thing because people moved their consoles and messed up their discs. They would blame Microsoft for not warning them.

A lady also sued McDonalds back in the day, because she burnt herself with coffee. Her logical thinking? They didn't warn her it was hot. Now every coffee cup warns contents may be hot, because McDonalds lost the law suit..
Same concept. People are idiots.

Actually you are incorrect on the lady suing Mcdonalds. The lady did not sue Mcdonalds for not warning her that the coffee was hot, rather, she wanted McDonalds to change the temperature of their coffee as it was unsafe. Mcdonalds wanted to increase efficiency by heating the coffee excessively so that they have a "buffer" time for employees to work on other orders. Mcdonalds admitted this in court and that is why they lost. The woman got 3rd degree burns from her coffee that was at a temperature of 190 degrees. Drinking this at that heat can kill you. She did not want to sue Mcdonalds, she just wanted compensation for her medical bills. Mcdonalds declined and thus were taken to court.
