The sales of Super Smash Bros Ultimate managed to reach 13.8 million right up to the conclusion the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019. Super Smash Bros Ultimate leads the pack for Nintendo titles. Nintendo also reported that Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee sold 10.63 million copies, while Super Mario Party and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sold 7.47 million and 6.4 million copies respectively. The Super Smash Bros Ultimate sales figures mean that it has sold more than the lifetime’s console sales of the Wii U. The Wii U sold 13.56 million units.
Industry analyst Daniel Ahmad shared a graph relating to the financial results:
Here is a look at Nintendo's financial results for the past 20 years.
— Daniel Ahmad (@ZhugeEX) April 25, 2019
Nintendo generated revenues of 1,200,560 million yen, up 13.7% YoY.
Operating Income was 249,701 million yen, up 40.6% YoY.

As Ahmad indicates, the graph shows the company’s financial results for the past 20 years and the statistics indicate that Nintendo has had its best year since the 2009 fiscal year.
Despite the news for Nintendo and the sales of its games, the financial report didn’t only provide positive results. The report revealed the Nintendo Switch sales for 2018 had missed projections. This is despite the console selling almost 35 million units since launch. The sales for 2018 amounted to 16.95 million units, meaning that the sales were only 50,000 below projections.
In other Nintendo news, rumors earlier this week indicated that the company may be releasing a smaller version of the Nintendo Switch in June. However, the rumors appeared to be almost immediately quashed. Earlier today it was reported that Nintendo’s president Shuntaro Furukawa declared the company would not be announcing a new version of the Switch at E3 2019.
