DualShock 4 controllers are now compatible with Apple devices

4.2
Following an update to Apple’s operating system, PlayStation owners can now use their wireless DualShock 4 controller to play PS4 games on iPad, iPhone, and Mac.

Hundreds of controller-supported games are available on Apple devices, but a PS4 Remote Play app will let you play any of your PS4 games through iOS 13, iPad OS, tv OS 13, and later in October macOS Catalina.

“Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, compatible game, PS4 system with software version 6.5 or higher, iPhone 7, iPad 6, or second-generation iPad with iOS 12.1 or higher installed, and high-speed internet connection,” said Sony Interactive Entertainment director of peripherals and esports marketing Anand Agarwal. “PS4 system with a wired connection via a LAN cable is also recommended.”

Sadly, depending on the Apple device some DualShock 4 controller features are not supported. These include the touch pad, vibration function, motion sensor and the headphone jack for audio. Likewise, in some cases users will still need to use their device’s on-screen touch controls to access the PS, Share, and Options buttons.
