Set in 2084 (purposely timed 100 years after George Orwell's dystopian novel 1984), Neo-Paris is meant to be a believable future city -- a city we might actually find ourselves in in a few decades. Adrift will be science fiction, but don't expect to be warping across the galaxy or zapping tentacle monsters.
While this idea certainly brings many interesting possibilities for conflict and drama to mind, Don't Nod wouldn't give me any specifics about what the game's story will be or what the player's objectives are. The developer just wanted to let the world know it is working on something that could be big.
Adrift is currently intended for retail release in late 2012. With only a year to go, it shouldn't be too long before we start learning more details and seeing what the game actually looks like. But what do you think? Sound interesting?
