This news is par for the course, obviously, but it’s still worth officially confirming, especially given that Epic Games boss Tim Sweeney himself recently tweeted about Unreal Engine 5’s multi-platform availability and support. Check out the tweet below.
The Unreal Engine 5 demo on PlayStation 5 was the culmination of years of discussions between Sony and Epic on future graphics and storage architectures.

The Nanite and Lumen tech powering it will be fully supported on both PS5 and Xbox Series X and will be awesome on both.
“The Unreal Engine 5 demo on PlayStation 5 was the culmination of years of discussions between Sony and Epic on future graphics and storage architectures,” Sweeney wrote. “The Nanite and Lumen tech powering it will be fully supported on both PS5 and Xbox Series X and will be awesome on both.”
Sweeney confirmed in a later tweet that high-end PCs would also be supported, and that “features for scaling the content down to run on current generation platforms using traditional rendering and lighting techniques” will be made readily available.
Unfortunately, Commodore 64 will not be supported.

* And with features for scaling the content down to run on current generation platforms using traditional rendering and lighting techniques
Also, Sweeney has confirmed that the infamous Volumetric Dog is under “super secret NDA.” Braid and The Witness dev Jonathan Blow reckons that with all the Fortnite money Epic has, it should invest in hiring a full-time staffer to “make Volumetric Dog a reality.” Instead, Epic continues to work on volumetric fog, which is substantially more boring and less wholesome.
* Don’t even ask about this feature, it’s under Super Secret NDAhttps://t.co/LSwXXKsqn0 https://t.co/aFaZwzwjcb
