Further Information on Modern Warfare 3's Dedicated PC Servers

Modern Warfare 3's dedicated PC servers will be unranked and admins will have complete control over what's unlocked, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling said in a PC FAQ. Public PC servers will be ranked and feature a standard unlock system, while consoles will strictly use P2P, with no option for dedicated servers, ranked, unranked or with randomly assigned unicorn mounts. That's right -- no unicorns.

Bowling defended the decision on his Twitter, saying the admin control of dedicated PC servers will be "Nothing like COD4. That's why we built in all the new backend control / security, so we don't have that problem again." Bowling also said that no one on PC is forced to play P2P servers; it all depends on what you want to get out of the game: "Public is about progression, private is about control."

Zerkos Sounds good, but lets be honest if your a PC like me then you're going to be getting BF3.

I play PC, and I'm not upgrading my RAM, GPU, and CPU speed to play a series of game I don't like. I get 125 FPS on CoD with my horrible specs, so I'll stick to CoD.

You know that yes BF3 needs high pc specs to play but MW3 will only just be lower due to the fact that the game is more graphic dependant now.

Last time I checked.. you aren't a computer.

I'm getting both games, this news regarding the servers definatly makes me more excited to be getting the PC version of MW3.

Good Because i liked the way CoD 4 servers worked. Hopefully its not going to be filled of HC matches because i don't like HC matches all the time. Overall good decision to do that Robert Bowling =)
