The Elder Scrolls 6 Teased by Xbox

3.8
The Elder Scrolls 6 release date may be years away, but that isn't stopping Elder Scrolls fans from clamoring for more information on the next installment in the best-selling and award-winning series, which of course means Xbox and Bethesda have to talk about the game every once in a while, even if they rather not. To this end, Xbox boss Phil Spencer was recently asked about the game, and noted Bethesda Game Studios is aiming to deliver a "decade game," which is to say, a game that will not only wow players at first impression, but keep them coming back for a decade as Skyrim has.

"You go back and you read a review of the first Elder Scrolls. And then you read The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's, then you read The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's. You blackout a couple of things. And they read the same," said Spencer. "'You've stepped out and oh my gosh, it feels so real'." People change. Technology changes. But the ultimate goal is still to make it so that, when you boot the game up, you feel like you've been transported.... The Elder Scrolls VI has got to be a 'decade game.' How do you make a game where you go into it, like, "People have to play it for a decade?'"

While this statement doesn't reveal much about the game itself, it does shed light on the game's development. One thing is clear and it's that Xbox and Bethesda know the game has to be special, which likely means it will be getting extra resources.

The Elder Scrolls 6 is currently without a release date, and right now, there's also no word of a release window or platforms.
