Minecraft XBLA sales surpass 2 million copies

Minecraft for Xbox 360 has sold 2 million copies since its launch in early May. The $20 XBLA version of the sandbox crafting phenomenon sold a million units in five days following its May 7 launch.

XBLA portfolio director Chris Charla tweeted earlier today: "I guess I can officially mention Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has crossed 2,000,000 in sales on XBLA!!"

Im sure it will get more sales than on the computer. Not everybody knew what Minecraft was when it was on PC but now its easily accessible through the Xbox Marketplace.


You are forgetting that more people have PCs than xboxs. Right now as I comment there are 32,666,975 people registered on the minecraft website.



Heres more stats from the site

32,667,016 registered users, of which 6,359,501 (19.47%) have bought the game.
In the last 24 hours, 100,725 people registered, and 14,668 people bought the game.

It wont mainly because a lot of pc players didnt buy the xbox version and wont want to pay another $20 for the same game
