If you did intend to play the remake on Valve’s portable PC, there’s good news for you. Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, recently took to Twitter and confirmed that when The Last of Us Part 1 launches for PC next year, it will indeed be fully optimized for the Steam Deck- or Steam Deck Verified, as Valve likes to say.
Of course, looking at past PlayStation releases on PC, that doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The likes of Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and others all feature full support for the Steam Deck. Early 2023 will also see the launch of Returnal on PC, and while it’s yet to be officially confirmed the Housemarque shooter is also likely to be optimized for Valve’s device upon launch.
The Last of Us Part 1 launches for PC on March 3. It is currently available on PS5. The game will cost $60 on PC, as opposed to $70 on PS5.
Ellie and Joel will grace the Steam Deck… don’t worry! https://t.co/89aMYuTPQB pic.twitter.com/Dti18OhXDV
