Warzone 2 Season 2 was recently delayed, but Infinity Ward and Raven Software reassured players that a new map would come to the popular free-to-play battle royale game. Additionally, the developers confirmed that several changes would be made to Warzone 2 based on player feedback. One of these changes includes the return of the 1v1 Gulag format that was popularized in the original Call of Duty: Warzone title. Ahead of Season 2's February launch, the developers shared more details about the incoming changes for Warzone 2.
The official Infinity Ward Twitter account confirms notable loot changes will be made for Season 2 of Warzone 2. Specifically, the message from the developer noted that "player eliminations and all loot containers will now pop floating loot out onto the floor" in Season 2 and beyond. This highly-requested change reintroduces traditional battle royale loot behavior commonly seen in games such as Fortnite and the original Warzone. Further, the change encourages players to quickly pick up loot and pursue gunfights at a faster pace in Warzone 2 matches.

Infinity Ward and Raven Software teased more changes to come for Warzone 2, but the developers didn't share any more new details. Fortunately, the Warzone 2 developers will publish a new studio blog post next week. This upcoming blog post will divulge more information about Season 2 as Warzone 2 Season 1 comes to a close.
Players have expressed criticism regarding Warzone 2's loot system for quite some time since launch, and the developers appear to have taken the feedback seriously. However, some Warzone 2 players are questioning Infinity Ward and Raven Software since the original Warzone loot system was already favored by many. Some argue that the loot system should have remained the same when switching from Warzone to Warzone 2, while others advocate for more substantial changes to make Warzone 2 a more unique game.
Rumors and leaks about Warzone 2 Season 2 continue to be discussed in the player community since a few weeks remain in Season 1. Season 2 begins on February 15, and Infinity Ward promises to share more details in the coming weeks leading into launch.
Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
