Although there isn't an official world editor mode for the java edition of Minecraft, there is a popular mod that does the job for those on PC. However, console users don't quite get the same benefits when it comes to additional features via mods.
Mojang is yet to confirm the existence of an official world editor mode, but it does appear to have been in the works for quite some time. As seen in the tweet below, the mode will reportedly work in a similar fashion to the PC mod. "Here's a sneak-sneak peak at Bedrock's work-in-progress editor mode", reads Badgerman's tweet.
A short clip is then attached, showcasing the capabilities of the work-in-progress mode. The user selects a "cube brush" before altering the size and painting the world with stone, quickly building structures that would take users an extended period of time to do by hand.
Don't worry creators! I have things for you as well...

As well as placing large structures in an instance, the mode will also allow users to quickly delete large parts of the world's landscape and even copy and paste a selected area.
Unfortunately, as mentioned previously, there's no word from Mojang Studios as to when this rumored mode will be released. In response to the above clip, one user did point out that the technical community has been tracking the progress of the mode over the last few years, and believes it "still has a good bit to go."
In other Minecraft news, the game's official Twitter account confirmed that an announcement will be made later today surrounding the name of the upcoming 1.20 update. A new Minecraft Monthly episode will go live on YouTube at 8AM PT / 11AM ET, confirming the official name of Minecraft's 1.20 update.
