The beta starts from May 19 (00:00 Pacific Daylight Time and 07:00 Coordinated Universal Time) until May 21 (24:00 PDT and 07:00 UTC respectively), and it's completely free for any Capcom ID holder. By registering a Capcom ID, any player can secure a spot on the specific platform of their choice, be it PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC (Steam), and enjoy a host of exciting features, including character creation (once per account), along with casual & ranked matches, open tournaments, and a variety of challenges, as well as the quirky fun activities from the Battle Hub, such as the DJ Booth and Photo Spot.
Unlike the previous demo, which only featured Luke and Ryu, it appears that you can choose from eight different characters (or your avatar) this time, and compete against others in five stages (not to mention the training room). The playable characters are: Luke, Jamie, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Kimberly, Juri, Ken, and accompanying them are Street Fighter 6's updated modern controls as well as the play-by-play commentary brought by the talented team of Vicious, Tasty Steve, Aru, Kosuke Hiraiwa, James Chen, and Demon Kakka.
In addition to duking it out against other players, registered users can engage in thrilling Extreme Battles with rules that change daily. Also mentioned to get daily updates is the Game Center, which is supposed to allow you to play classic Street Fighter titles in a real arcade-like gaming space. Moreover, players will have the opportunity to earn free Fighter Coins and swap them for avatar gear parts, but they should note that any purchases or avatars created during the beta will not carry over to the final release, as explained in the FAQ.

The download size will be a uniform 25GB across all platforms, and PC gamers can find all the specs listed on the official website. Subscriptions like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold won't be required to get in on the action, nor registering early would be needed. Players will be able to access the beta as normal during its run if they register anytime before May 21, and for those who are already registered, the pre-load will begin at 00:00 Pacific Daylight Time on May 16, and at 07:00 on the same day for those following Coordinated Universal Time.
