Remnant 2 Trailer Showcases N’Erud, a Massive Space-Faring Construct

Gunfire Games’ Remnant 2 has several different worlds that players can explore, from the overrun Yaesha to Losomn, formed from the fusion of the Fae and Dran worlds. However, not every world is that straightforward. There’s also N’Erud, a space-faring construct which can “traverse the universe at incomprehensible speeds.”

Built as a second home for the Drzyr, it’s a more sci-fi-oriented location with drones and other machines. However, its people seem to be missing. That’s because, as revealed in a Steam post, the N’Erud ventured through a supermassive black hole in search of the mysteries of all creation at the behest of The Custodian. Despite an Astropath named Tal’Ratha advising otherwise, the Drzyr forged ahead.

The result? The transformation of the race into “incorporeal entities” and N’Erud into a necropolis. Tal’Ratha survived, and based on the images, it seems The Custodian did as well. One can only guess at the horrors that await, but we can dig the Event Horizon-inspired lore.

Remnant 2 launches on July 25th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
