Xbox One: free game for those affected by hardware issues

Microsoft will give a free digital game to those whose Xbox One has gone on the blink,, allowing them to get some gaming in even without a functioning optical drive.

The news comes via an email from a Microsoft support representative published by Polygon.

“While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game. We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios,” the representative said.

Xbox One digital launch titles include Zoo Tycoon, Powerstar Golf, and Kinect Sports Rivals.

Microsoft has confirmed that a very small number of Xbox One units are experiencing hardware problems related to the optical drive, and promised to “take care” of those affected.

This isn't exactly a great thing for the users, but it's nice of them at least to keep them occupied, if they are giving them like 60$ on their accounts then that would be better.

People are so spoiled I swear. I mean it's human and mechanical for consoles come out wrong when they make hundred of thousands of controllers and they still b*^ch about them giving you free games ?! I mean sh!t stop complaining. At least they giving something not like the PSN network where they didn't give anything back to those customers who had that red lift of death. Spoiled brats.

Kinect sprts rivals sounds like the only good game of those three. Ihave never seen it but if it is anything like wii sports it would be amazing
