The trailer starts off with Swampland, the forested map teased in a "Making of" video released last week. Swampland is said to be themed around "archaic alien technology" set in humid-looking jungle environment.
Runoff has been described by Titanfall designer Geoff Smith as a compact map with lower canals ideal for Titan combat, and upper levels better suited to Pilot confrontations.
War Games is a virtual combat zone that blends areas that resemble the game's tutorial missions with zones inspired by the original Angel City, Rise and Airbase Sierra maps.
Screenshots of all three maps were released last week. Here's the fictional premise behind the new battlefields:
In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat. On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base. When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artifacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. To maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra.
Expedition will release in May on Xbox One and PC and in June on Xbox 360 for $9.99, or as part of the three-pack Season Pass for $24.99.
Respawn confirmed last week that all of Titanfall's updates and DLC will hit the Xbox 360 version after a delay, as developer Bluepoint needs additional time to convert them.
