EA has promised significant improvements to shooting, dribbling and passing, as well as fast breaks, pick and rolls and playcalling.
NBA Live 15 was originally scheduled for an October 7 release in US, but was pushed back by three weeks to October 28 for reasons undisclosed.
Crucially, this means EA's game will not arrive alongside its key rival, 2K's NBA 2K15, which is also planned for an October 7 release.
EA hopes NBA Live 15 will mark a return to form for the troubled series, following negative fan and press feedback, and numerous cancellations in recent years. EA Sports boss Andrew Wilson apologised for the quality of NBA 14, which was the subject of unanimously poor reviews.
According to EA, new scanning and lighting technology help the game render substantially more realistic player models complete with more convincing emotional responses.
The game includes reworked physics to create more unpredictable situations in crowded areas of the court, while "freestyle passing" will help players avoid the crush.
