lately, hackers have been hacking accounts and sending messages to friends of the victim's profile that says free microsoft points and of course ppl are desperate and go there and get their accounts stolen..... so if u receive a message that involves microsoft points and a website dont go to it.

Yes there are not many hackers but there is sure a lot of con artists that will trick you into giving out your password. Never give your password to anybody under any circumstances.

yea it mostly happens to younger children around 7-10 years of age so if u ever see or hear a kid who is about to go to the site top them....when u enter the url of the site they get ur ip and shutdown ur computer and hack ur windows live and get access of ur xbl account.

Or they just fill out a form tricking them that they will recover their account and put MS points on it.
I got a message like this so I made a silver account and did it and what do ya know...

I know that young kids might be an exception, but anyone who gives out their password is a little bit stupid i reckon

Microsoft is ignorant against stuff like this. The best way to prevent it from happening is just to ignore messages like that. Just remember that there is no such thing as "free". Espesially on xbox live.
