You need to make sure you are plugging into a router that is acting as a DHCP server. Usually your HSD modem will have 1 ethernet port on it. It will assign only 1 address. You need a router that can accept multiple connections. Some modems have this built in. If that is your case, you need to make sure that neither of your boxes have a static ip set that is outside of the segment range. If your normal ip address for your lan is 192.168.0.XXX you need to make sure all of your devices are on the 192.168.0. segment. If your retail ip is 192.168.0.10 (for example) and your jtag has a 172.16.0.XXX even though they are on the same switch they most likely will not talk or see each other. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Gotcha. When your jtag is connected to your home network can you FTP into it? Perhaps I misunderstood the question. My guess is that all of your network connections are fine, however, you may have an incorrect title update on your jtag. That could prevent your retail boxes from seeing your jtag's system link. Try to ftp or ping your jtag console if you can connect or get a reply, you have verified that your ethernet connections are good, and most likely the title update is the culprit. Good luck. Is this the case for all of your games or a specific one?
