So I used to do these all the time when I was apart of graphic forums and I kinda just fell out of them and started getting into myspace designs...then i fell out of that. But i'd say it's been 6 months since i've done any type of graphic design work and I figured I would have a go at a signature for the hell of it.
It's not the best but I was kinda happy about it for being so long.

Did you just add an effect (greyscale, sepia, negative etc) and some text? Or smudge here and there?

A lot of smudging, gradient map, some 3D abstract renders, clipping masks, text, blurs, and apply images and all...
Again it's just a simple one to start off again, I probably won't even attempt anymore ever again aha.
I'm more of the Myspace band designs and all...

Its not that bad you just need some depth cause its very flat.

Putting all that effort in then just going grey has ruined it.
Would imagine the colour version would look alot better

Yeah, I probably should have added another gaussian blur in the background behind him and lowered the opacity but I forgot about depth aha.

Yeah, I like more black and white things like photographs and all but I'm redoing it in color and adding some depth.
Nice tips guys.

I love the B+W stuff in photography.
Also about the gaussian blur background. Good idea.
Maybe just the background blurred and then add a little sharpen to the focal will bring him out a bit more adding a little depth
