hello all i have put together a tutorial on not only jtag fan mods but for retail boxes as well. this tut can be used exactly as you see it or you can add fans using the same method. works with proof, youtube link provided at bottom.
#1 take your console apart and locate the wires for the dvd rom
#2 there are 2 plugs, 1 solid and together, the other has many little wires all separated for the plug you will work on. locate the top left wire in that plug harness.(box on table in front of you, box facing to your right, you looking straight down behind dvd rom. 2 plugs 1 left 1 right. the one on the right. top left wire.)
#3 connect a bridge (small wire) between this wire and the next step.(bridge point in the middle of that wire)
#4 locate the red and brown leads for your fans(there are two fans)both leads are at the fan plug in at the mobo. now depending on you,(how much cooling you need), both or just 1 of these wires can be connected to the bridge wire. connecting 1 will give you 12v to just 1 fan. connecting both will obviously do the same for both. again connect right in the middle of the wires.
#5 solder the new bridged connections to keep them connected securely be sure to securely tape or shrink wrap the connections when you're done.
#6 now you can leave the fans alone OR just add extra fans using the same method but you will need to run 1 more bridge for the negitive. if doing this find the blue or black wire at the fan plug and make your bridge points there for ground. follow the above steps for securing connections.
#7 ENJOY AND DON'T FORGET TO REP AND THANKS, PLEASE. this took allot of time not for the mod but to put all of this info together this way with the video and all. SOUND CUTS IN AND OUT FOR SPEED PURPOSES, IMPORTANTS ARE ALL WITH SOUND.
