Today I am going to give you the basics and some info on the site.


Staff & Badges

There are 4 Staff ranks on TTG. And here is a list of them.

Also we have a complete team of staff, so to keep all the staff known we have a page just for them, including a pm button next to their name. For a complete listing of staff go 'Here'.




The ShoutBox
Located 'Here'


Purpose

The shout box is a webpage in which everyone can chat with each other, and discuss other things. Another use for the ShoutBox is to talk to staff. There is almost at all times some staff in the ShoutBox. Please not you may not discuss, bans, warnings, or anything that violated TTG's rules.

Understanding

The ShoutBox can be a very hectic and confusing place at times. Including spamming, links, and trolls. Please ignore them, as soon enough Staff will notice. You should be able easily identify staff by the Hammer next to their name. As you will see there are two different types of hammers, a gold one, and a bronze one. This is done to illuminate the difference between Admins and Global Mods. Admins have the golden hammer, Global Mods have the bronze.

Some features

Telli our site developer has hand coded the ShoutBox with many features, some only staff can use but I will specify if you can do it or not. So one of the most prominent and used feature is the "@" feature. You will see it next to someones name when they shout, if you press the "@" it will pop in there name to your input box. This feature's intended use was to keep shouts fast, as you don't have to spell their name, and to keep discussion with a certain person, also know as direct addressing, you can tell when someone says your name as there shout will be a different color, almost highlighted so you can see. Those are the main member features, but if you are gold then you can use color bbcode in the Shoutbox. There are some other global mod/admin features but you don't have to worry about those.



The Downloads Tab

This tab is for members to download files, and add to the the collection. There is many different sections and tons of uploads. if you are ever in need of anything just go look their.

The Arcade
Located 'Here'

This is a place to take your mind of posting, or get competitive.
There is a myriad of different games, some new some old.
Along with the different creation dates of the games, there is also a variety of game modes. Just fip through the pages and pages of games and tell me you can't find one you like.

This tab is used for the reading and posting of tutorials. Members can view and upload tutorials and they are organized by category for easy use, here is a list of the categories;

Understanding the Forum

Well if you look there is a lot of stuff for the picture in front of each Topic. Here is a basic explanation of each.

Stickies

Stickies are the topics with the little green check mark next to them. This mean that in the subsection they are stickied in they will not fall to the bottom in posts. This is awarded to topics in which a staff member found useful, or for legit shops in the market place. Please not you may not ask staff for a sticky, by doing so you decrease your chances of getting it stickied.

Announcements

This is the red megaphone, these are usually temporary but some may stay for some time, there purpose is to set extra rules, inform members of something very important, or stress rules. This too will be handed out by staff accordingly on their judgement.

Global Announcements

This is the purple megaphone and shows that a thread should be read by all members, these are very important contain portent things. Including Staff applications, downtimes, resets, and other huge news. These are never permanent.

Hot Topics

These are the topics with the flame as the logo of them, please not there is 2 different kinds of flame. The one that is bigger means that the topic has had enough posts in a certain amount of time to become hot and has a new post on it, if it has no new posts you will see the second more dull flame.


The Forum composition

The forum is composed of many layers, I will go over them with brevity to keep it short, please not these are biggest to smallest in size.

Forum

The forum is everything on the forum tab, this is the broadest section.

Sections

There are 9 sections, 10 if you are a gold member, each section is composed of subsections.

Sub-Sections

These are what you see inside each section, they are made up of topics. These are when you get down to more specifics, like mods for a certain game.

Topics & Posts

Topis are the basis of subsections, each topic starts off as one post, and from there is added by other posts, making a thread go in size. For a better understanding, this here is a thread all together. but is divided up into parts named posts. Ergo this is a pyramid every layer gets broader and bigger.



The Videos Tab

General

This is a webpage in which members can view videos posted by other members. Members may also upload videos and sometimes receive free gold by doing so.

Purpose

This page's purpose was so we can have videos on sight and keep stuff private, also so youtube cannot remove our videos.

Or you can get the gift of gold, this is when someone likes you are respects and pays for you. You can try and earn this by doing tasks, but do not ask for it. It will only get you negative rep. Also sometimes if staff thinks your deserving they may give you gold.



TTG Rep

What is rep & How should it be used.

Rep is short for reputation. So when someone has a large amount of reputation power then that means members respect them. Or they can have a shop on TTG and sell items like JTAGS.
Rep should be used to show how you think of a person in general, how legitimate they are, or not. Yes there is a feature to -rep someone. Please try to not get to tied up in rep. It is only some green blocks next to your name.

The two ways of earning rep.

One way to earn rep s by posting, for every 25 posts you have you gain 1 rep power. Please do not spam as your post will be deleted and you warned.
Way to is when someone gives you rep, regular members can give up to 25 rep points, gold can give 50, and global and up can give 100. So if your posting helpful posts you will gain a lot of rep in no time, but if you spam and flame you will deep into the negatives and banned in a blink of an eye.

How Rep and Rep points work.

Well when someone gives you rep they give you rep points, for every 100 points you get you get 1 rep power. Which means you can now rep as well. You can give a +- 1 to anyone, as long as its not abuse.

How to give rep.

If you have one rep at least you can look at the bottoms of someones topic or post and there is a balance click on this, leave them a comment, and saying" I like this post" will give them + rep, "I don't like this post" will give them neg rep. Please try to provide a reason why.

Fun fact: Dimebag (Global Mod + Former MW2 Hoster) has the most rep on TTG.



How to suggest Ideas & Contact Staff

Ways of contacting staff.

Well there are multiple ways of contacting staff, one of them being the contact form, 'Here'. This should be used when you loose access to your account and or your email.
Also for a reply from any staff when you have your account you can use this sub-section, 'Here', just be sure to read the announcement and sticky first.

Feedback and suggestions.

Please use this subsection
'Here' for all your feedback on certain site features and or suggestions. Don't be afraid to suggest something. As long as it doesn't break the rules you will be good.
