I got an iPhone 3 recently, and I had it jailbroken. I think it was 4.2.1 software.
I then tried to restore it and it was stuck on the 'Connect to iTunes' screen.
I googled it and that said put it into DFU mode.
I did so, and then I tried to restore in DFU mode and it came up with 'Fail to restore Error 1015'.
I want to try and restore my iPhone on the same 4.2.1 software anybody know how to do this and get rid of the 'Connect to iTunes' screen?

You could ssh your device and do a manual
downgrade, then it might be able to system
restore it, just look up the jail break you used and find how to un jailbreak it and then restore it.
Id say don't upgrade itunes,
because they will try and make your ipod useless if its jailbroken.
Hoped this steer's you to the right answer.

I don't want to go through all of that. Won't it just work if I try and jailbreak again whilst it is in 'Connect to iTunes' screen?
I jailbreak with Greenpoison so I won't need to do all of the downgrading stuff.
But I want to know if it'll work if I jailbreak whilst it is stuck in that screen?

I don't think the error is because of that. It's because my iPhone is jailbroken...

iTunes can't detect that it is jailbroken so go on your iPhone and go to settings, general and restore it
