Just a quick question to ask if i was to jailbreak my ps3 what would i actually gain from it ? Free games ? Movies etc ?

you can put games on it so you wouldent need a disk you could run emulaters and host lobbies on call of duty

in short it allows you to access the root of your ps3, host lobbies, run unsigned apps and code, play and load emulators, modify system files, play backups, and tamper with all the cool stuff on your console.

dont try and edit the system files unless you know what you are doing, but ya.
